DLTC Summer League 2019

The Dublin Lawn Tennis Council (DLTC) are the official body in charge of running tennis leagues in Dublin. Any club within a 50km perimeter of the GPO are allowed to enter teams.

We regularly enter teams throughout the year including: Winter League (Jan-Mar), Summer League (May-Jun), Mixed League (Jul-Aug), Senior League (Sept-Oct), and Floodlight League (Oct-Nov).

This year we have entered two Men's teams into the Summer League - Class 4 & Class 7. We are hoping to get our Class 7 team promoted this year.

Our home games take place during the day on the 11th May, 18th May, and 15 June. Please feel free to come down to the club and support your team.

Despite a valiant effort Team 1 lost 5 - 0 to Navan LTC 1. Especially close where our Singles 1 and 2 (Konrad and Arek), who both lost their matches despite winning comfortably in the first set.

Team 2, on the other hand, are continuing their winning streak after beating Deerpark LTC 2 3-2 away from home, and well on their way to the play-offs. The deciding game with Brookfield LTC 2 may decide who gets first place in the group. Whomever gets first place will not only have an easier play-off, but will also get the benefit of a home game.

*Updated 9th.June.2019*

Unfortunately both our teams lost this week.

Team 1 lost 1-4 away to Carrickmines, with Connor Madden, picking up the only point. With only one game left, Team 1 are hoping to pick up a win at home, to the lowest ranked team in the group, Sandycove. If we win we should avoid relegation this year.

Team 2 also recorded their first loss away to Brookfield, losing 2-3. This means that Brookfield only need three points in their last game against Carraigh to win the group, as that would leave them with a win advantage against Dunboyne.

Either way, congratulations to Dunboyne 2 for making to the qualification stage!
